BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Boca Bennington Tobacconist is proud to
present a one night only intimate evening with Cigar Connoisseur and Pianist Avo
Uvezian on Tuesday night, February 26 at 7:00pm, at Max’s
Grille located at 404 Plaza Real, Mizner Park, Boca Raton.

Born in Beirut to a family of talented musicians Avo Uvezian,
“Avo”, is world renowned for
his legendary piano performances and his passion for fine cigars. He became a
piano player at an early age and pursued it as his career when he came to New
York City and studied at the Julliard School of Music. In the 50s he joined the
Army and played for the First Army Band at Governor’s
Island where he picked up a second passion, cigars. From there, Avo moved to
Puerto Rico where he opened a piano bar and began his search for the finest
cigar. Never finding one to satisfy his tastes, Avo began rolling his own
cigars. In the early 1980s he met up with master cigar maker Hendrik Kelner to
mass produce his own blend in the Dominican Republic under the Davidoff name.
Originally from Cuba, the Davidoff brand represents quality, style, and good
taste. Today, at age 80, Avo enjoys a comfortable life, performing around the
world and enjoying his own brand of cigars distributed by Davidoff Cigar Factory
from Santiago with sales of over 3 million a year.
Purchased in 1980, Boca Bennington Tobacconist, located at 501 SE Mizner
Blvd. #80 Boca Raton, is one of an exclusive family owned chain of cigar shops
run by Jim Bennington. The Bennington name is known for its high end quality
service and products for private patrons and select businesses that cater to
affluent clientele such as the Ritz Carlton and Ocean Reef. The company is
growing at a rate of 20% per year. “Despite the
economy”, says Bennington, “there
are some things people just won’t give up, like their
favorite fine cigars. We look forward to a great year, and Avo’s
presence with our cigar tasting is the perfect kickoff.”
The agenda for the evening features hand picked AVO cigars followed by a
pleasing evening lineup of wine and cigar pairing alongside a four course meal
prepared by Chef Patrick Broadhead. A private performance by Avo will entertain
the attendees as they arrive for the dinner. The event is co-sponsored by DKMC,
Inc. and Southern Wine and Spirits selection of the Stimson Estate Cellars,
Antinori wines, and Glenlivet scotch. The cost is $125 plus tax and gratuity and
limited seating is available. For more information, contact Laura Hutton at
