Release – Padron 1964 Anniversary Series No. 4

padron1964

Padron’s popular 1964 Anniversary Series line is expanding its already impressive lineup with the addition of the No. 4. The line, which was launched in 1994 to commemorate the brand’s 30th anniversary, already boasts ten sizes. What makes the No. 4 significant, however, is that it trumps all the others with its 6 x 60 measurements.

As for the cigar size’s name, company president Jorge Padron told Cigar Aficionado it was chosen in honor of the December 4 birth date of Santa Barbara, a Catholic saint revered by many Cubans.

Like its predecessors in the line, the Padron 1964 Anniversary Series No. 4 will consist of limited-production tobacco that has been aged for four years and will be offered in both Sun Grown Natural and Maduro versions. The likelihood of the cigar being box-pressed is high as well, as Padron claims the line was introduced as a box-pressed series to reflect the old Cuban style. While no official release date has been set, Jorge Padron said the No. 4 will hopefully hit shelves before this year’s IPCPR show kicks off in August.

Florida Dentist Opposes Neighboring Cigar Shop’s Smoke

Valrico, Florida, dentist Dr. Edmund Rahal has decided he’s had enough of his neighbor’s smoke. Of course, smoke is to be expected when your neighbor is a cigar shop and smoking lounge, but Rahal claims cigar smoke from Twisted Cigar is slowly ruining his business.

According to the Bloomingdale-Riverview Patch, Twisted Cigar moved into the Valrico shopping center’s vacant location next to Rahal’s dental office last October. Since then, Rahal has had to endure several complaints from his employees and patients. Twisted Cigar invites its patrons to smoke in its lounge that features comfortable seating and televisions, and the shop has also applied for a beer and wine license to become even more appealing.
