We are mixing things up a bit in today’s edition of cigar news. First up is a story detailing a new Gran Habano factory in Miami. After that, we have details on new and upcoming releases from La Flor Dominicana, Viaje, La Aurora, and Room101.
Gran Habano Opens Cigar Factory on Calle Ocho

Little Havana’s Calle Ocho section in Miami recently received another tobacco-related addition with the completion of Gran Habano’s G.R. Tabacaleras Co. cigar factory.
The new factory features a little bit of everything, beginning with 10 specially selected Cuban rollers who will be capped at a daily production level of 1,000 cigars to ensure quality. The factory is slated as the main setting for the production of the appropriately named Gran Habano Miami line, featuring the Black Corojo, Opium Miami, and STK offerings.
For more of a hands-on experience, visitors can enter the G.A.R. Deli, a blend lab that allows cigar fans show off their creative talents. The lab contains all the materials necessary to let each participating visitor play the role of a master blender as they search for the perfect blend.
Beyond its role as a factory for production purposes, G.R. Tabacaleras also features attractions for cigar lovers visiting the area. It has a luxury lounge where smokers can relax and enjoy items from the official Gran Habano humidor stocked with old and new lines from the brand. Gran Habano’s Cabinet Selection and Corojo #5 Lancero are just a couple of hard to find cigars that can be found in the humidor.
In case you’re curious about the aforementioned Gran Habano Miami line, its Black Corojo selection will be based off of Gran Habano’s well-received Corojo #5 line. Set to be released in the near future, the Black Corojo will supposedly carry the distinction of being the industry’s first cigar to sport a black Corojo wrapper. As for the Opium Miami, it will be released as a regular production offering in response to the successful release of the brand’s original Opium cigar. Both the Black Corojo and Opium Miami will be produced in traditional Cuban sizes.
