Release: La Aurora Puro Vintage 2004

laaurora

La Aurora recently released the Puro Vintage 2004 as a follow-up to the Vintage 2003 edition that hit shelves in 2009. The cigar consists of an aged Dominican filler and binder plus an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Only La Aurora’s most experienced rollers at the company’s factory in the Dominican Republic were given the opportunity to take part in the line’s production to ensure quality. This is not much of a surprise, as only 8,000 cigars total were produced.

The La Aurora Puro Vintage 2004 comes in a special Salomon shape that carries a suggested retail price of $18.75 per single. Each box comes equipped with eight cigars. Expect a creamy, medium-bodied smoke with excellent construction.

Release: Room101 LTD OSOK Edition

room101osok

The Room101 LTD OSOK Edition was created to honor Edgar Hoill, a Los Angeles based photographer who is responsible for the brand’s imagery that dots its packaging, bands, and other marketing materials. OSOK stands for “One Shot, One Kill,” which is apparently some sort of nickname associated with the photographer.

Each OSOK has a filler blend of Corojo and Piloto Ligero tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Honduras. The binder is Honduran Corojo Seco. An Ecuadorian Habano wrapper completes the composition that is said to add smoothness to help balance the strength of the filler. Room101 designated a master roller to hand-shape each cigar. There are three unique sizes in the line: the 4 ½ x 42 x 52 Filero, 6 ½ x 19 x 50 x 30 Trucha, and the 8 x 44 x60 Chingon.

Production is limited to 1,000 boxes of 10 per size, which translates to 30,000 cigars total. Each cigar comes wrapped in a decorative Room101 OSOK paper bandana. Pricing per single is as follows: $8 Filero, $10 Trucha, $12 Chingon. Look for the OSOK to become available sometime in February at select retailers.
