He has also maintained the quality of his cigars. In an industry where some makers have been prepared to stick to a price-point at the expense of cigar quality, Cusano Cigars have taken the opposite approach. Of course they are very conscious of the need to keep their prices down but at the same time they know that there’s a point at which the quality of a cigar can drop below what is acceptable to the marketplace, and that’s not where Chiusano ever wants his cigars to be found.

With an approach like that it’s no wonder that Cusano Cigars has become known for a great product and that has made the company attractive to some of the bigger cigar manufacturers. In June, Cusano Cigars was purchased by the Swiss company Oettinger Davidoff Group and that’s a move that is likely to see the distribution of Cusano Cigars expand into at least 120 countries, many of which have never imported Cusano Cigars before.

Cusano’s relationship with Oettinger Davidoff goes back to those early days of the company in 1997 and so Chiusano sees it as a natural fit that will only see the brand he has developed gain even more market share.
