St. Paddy’s Day is right around the corner, and that’s as good an excuse as any to have a big sale, and online distributor TrueTobacco.com is having a weekend-long sale on their large selection of cigar accessories. If you’re in need of a new humidor or fancy ashtray, this is the place to go.

On sale this weekend is the 100 Cigar Six-Sided Burl Inlay Humidor that regularly sells for $186.16, now just $104. This humidor includes a glass hygrometer with brass frame, a gold plated lock and key and engrave able brass nameplate.

TrueTobacco.com general manager Nick Gordon emphasizes the importance of having the right humidor for your cigar collection. “Humidors are key to being a proper aficionado. There are hundreds of humidors on our site, and each one will say something about the owner when people see it. It’s not just about taking proper care of your cigars, it’s about displaying your personality.”

Besides humidors with personality, other items on sale this weekend include ashtrays, cutters, cigar cabinets, cigar kits and hygrometers.

Cal State Fullerton Offers Cigar 101

Among all the usual extra-curricular activities offered by most institutions of higher learning, Cal State Fullerton in Orange County has one that’s more interesting—the CSUF Cigar Club.

The club has been in operation for three semesters after getting recognized by the school’s administration. According to the club’s president Calvin Nyo, this certification required a lot of paperwork and approval by numerous college officials.

Subjects covered in early meetings included cigar smoking basics, and the club has greatly benefitted from the expertise of marketing professor Tony Vercillo, who has been happy to share his knowledge of cigar history and etiquette. He also revealed to the students some tips on how to use cigars to advance your career.

The club meets four times per month, and charges a $40 fee per semester that includes one cigar per meeting. Nyo has noticed increased interest in cigars among his peers.

“There is a rebirth in cigars especially with young people, not just old people,” Nyo told a reporter. “I noticed a niche in young people smoking cigars. If there are a lot of people smoking cigars, there must be a reason why.”
