Bill Bock, president of Indianhead, announced the company’s appointment as exclusive U.S. distributor of P.T.M. brand pipes, saying,
“This is a new brand for United States pipe smokers. Although the brand name is not well known in this country yet, the manufacturer, Briar Manufacturing Industry, S.A., of Patra, Greece, is one of the world’s largest producers of Grecian briar. They also have manufactured Amadeus brand high-quality briar pipes for the European market for years. P.T.M. pipes meet the highest quality standards at competitive prices, and the company backs every pipe they make with a lifetime warranty. We have toured the factory, and have seen for ourselves how the quality of their craftsmanship reflects the quality of their briar.”

Grecian briar is known worldwide for its porosity, making comfortable in the mouth and easy on the teeth, due to its light weight. This porosity also means the pipe smokes dry and cool, because the briar’s open grain absorbs more moisture from the burning tobacco.
Named after the initials of the last names of the three partners, P.T.M. pipes are offered in a broad line of standard pipe shapes, plus Danish freehand styles. Suggested retail pricing for their standard pipes start at $60, with the freehand designs running up to $600 each. The entire P.T.M. line is now appearing at better tobacconists.
