And if you’re going to be in Florida next week, you won’t want to miss what could be the biggest cigar party ever.  We also have a new cigar lounge for your smoking pleasure and a cigar store that is helping the needy this winter.




 

 

 

Mike’s Cigars Hosts Extravaganza



There are plenty of parties coming up over the next month, but this sounds like one of the biggest. Internet tobacco retailer Mike’s Cigars is getting ready to host what they call the biggest cigar block party in the world.

The main event will take place at the Miami location of Mike’s Cigars in Bay Harbor, Florida, from noon to five p.m. on Saturday, January 26. Guests can enjoy wine sampling stations, live music, raffles, tastings from top Miami restaurants and a catered luncheon, followed by desserts, liquors and Cuban coffee served from the Café Bustelo Coffee Station.



And of course, there will be cigars! Booths will be giving away premium cigars from brands including Macanudo, Romeo y Julieta, Rocky Patel, Alec Bradley, Davidoff, Arturo Fuente, Drew Estate, Carlos Torano, Don Pepin, Oliva, Ashton, and others.



A pre-event Cigar Dinner hosted by cigar maker Alec Bradley will take place the night before, on Friday, January 25 at Emilio’s Trattoria. Wine and cigars are included with a VIP ticket.


Tickets are $150 each and include a souvenir pack of free cigars from every company exhibiting, a total of over 50 cigars, plus a cigar case, cutter and other gifts in an event swag bag. Mike's Cigars president Oded Ben-Arie stated the purpose of the event. "The South Florida Cigar Extravaganza Weekend at Mike's Cigars is an opportunity for us to bring leading brands in the cigar industry to the cigar lovers of South Florida. We're hoping to use this event as the launch pad for additional events in 2013 that will strengthen the Mike's Cigars brand around the world and underscore our commitment to distributing quality products."




Are You Ready for the Super Bowl?



The big game is just a couple of weeks away, and there are going to be some great parties going on, both in the Big Easy and all over the country. Here are a few of special interest to cigar lovers.



Every year, just before the Super Bowl, ESPN analyst and former NFL QB Ron Jaworski throws an event for charity, and this year’s sounds like the best yet. Jaws New Orleans Cigar Party will take place on Thursday, January 31 at the Bourbon Vieux on Bourbon Street in New Orleans and will benefit the United Way and Jaws Youth Playbook Charity.

Tickets are $500 each and the festivities will include single-malt scotch, famous football celebrities and premium cigars from brands like CAO, Macanudo, Miami Cigar & Co., Rocky Patel, Quesada, and La Gloria Cubana. Besides the booze and cigars, guests can hobnob with ESPN personalities including Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden, Mike Ditka, Suzy Kolber, Mike Golic and Merril Hoge.
