Philly Cigar Store Helps Those in Need

January is the coldest part in winter, and one Philadelphia cigar store is stepping up to help those who can’t afford warm clothing with its “Smoking Jackets” coat drive. The six locations of Cigar, Cigars are working with Grace’s Closet of Telford’s Grace United Methodist Church to provide coats to those who can’t afford to buy them.

Cigar, Cigars is asking customers to bring in new or gently used coats in a plastic bag to the stores, and in return will get a 10% discount good that day. The drive will go on until January 27.

The project was coordinated by Scott Atkinson of Cigar, Cigars, who stated, We wanted to do something to help the communities that have supported us for so long. It can get very cold at this time of the year so I’m sure the coats will be put to good use.”

Smokes can enjoy a stogie in the shop, which is connected to the restaurant, and a HVAC keeps the air in between clear.
