New Orleans was the place to be last weekend, at least if you were one of the Baltimore Ravens or their fans. There were also plenty of famous faces in the Big Easy enjoying Cajun food, premium liquor, fine cigars—and football, too.
One celeb definitely living large in the Crescent City was rap mogul Jay-Z. While his beautiful better half Beyonce was rehearsing for her bootylicious halftime performance, Jay-Z was spotted in the Garden District, hanging with a couple of pals at the Mayan Import Company and puffing on a big cigar.
The multi-talented music mogul has made no secret of his love for fine cigars. Back in 2009, he commented: “I like Montecristos—those are probably some of my favorites. But I like a bit of everything: Romeo y Julieta, Partagas. One of my first favorites was Dunhills, when I first started smoking them. But I go back and forth. I think it's like anything else: sure, you can find good, inexpensive cigars, but the things that are really good are the ones that cost.”

It sounds like Jay-Z is still indulging his taste for the finer things. According to British tabloid The Daily Star, one of Beyonce’s demands in her performance rider for the Super Bowl appearance was $6,000 in expensive cigars and liquor for her husband. That’s the kind of wife every cigar lover should have!
Snoop Collects Some Cigar Swag
Jay-Z and Beyonce weren’t the only A-listers partaking of the city’s hospitality during Super Bowl week. A long list of celebs checked out the GBK luxury lifestyle lounge at Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World. Along with NFL Hall of Famers Deion Sanders and Warren Moon, Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion) sampled the array of swag suite goodies. Snoop was especially taken with the premium Cigar Package from tobacco retailer StogieBoys.com, which included an engraved NFL Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas humidor, top quality cigars and cigar accessories.

Although Snoop is notorious for his fondness of the less-than-legal smoke products, the man does know his cigars. At the 2012 Coachella music festival, he introduced his own Executive Branch cigar line, which he described as being made with “premium tobacco from the Dominican Republic.”

Snoop told reporters covering the festival, “Be sure to get you some, they're the natural size, they just taste a little better, they got more class on them.
"I just want to step up the cigar game, its like the next level, if you really want to be an executive, you smoke the Executive Branch, you know what I'm saying.”
