Cigar Vault Emporium is the Place to be on Staten Island

If you’re looking for a place to buy and/or enjoy premium cigars on Staten Island, you’ll want to check out the Cigar Vault Emporium. This upscale cigar store includes a lounge where smokers can relax and make new friends. The lounge, which seats 30, features seven big screen TVs, free WiFi, iPod docks and games.

Store manager Tommy Marra told a reporter, “We have one of the biggest selections of cigars on Staten Island. If you'd like to come in and enjoy the lounge, all you have to do is buy a cigar.” He added that it doesn’t hurt that the Emporium is flanked by two of the area’s trendiest restaurants.

“This location is perfect; it's doing better than expected.  There is a whole culture of cigar smokers. A lot of the guys who come in here know each other from smoking cigars. Plus, they build friendships here.

"A lot of guys have become friends and now do things together, such as play golf, after meeting here."

The Cigar Vault Emporium is located at 96 Page Avenue, Richmond Valley Plaza,
Staten Island, NY 10309, 718-948-2700.

Brown & Sons Cigars is a Family Affair

While joining the family business can sound pretty dull, that’s certainly nor true if your family’s business is running a cigar shop! In the case of Brown & Sons Premium Cigars in Olympia, WA, it means combining business with pleasure.

While huddling in a barn to smoke cigars in freezing weather, Andrew Brown, his dad Kurt and brother Tim hatched the idea of opening their own cigar store and smoking lounge.

Brown & Sons Premium Cigars opened in September 2011, and the owners are loving the place as much as their customers do. Andrew Brown commented, “We're laid back and have fun. We pride ourselves on being 100 percent family owned and operated. You walk in and just know it's family.”

With three televisions, the lounge is a great place to enjoy a sporting event like last week’s Super Bowl, especially since the Browns hosted a taco and nacho bar for the occasion.

Brown says his favorite cigars brands are the 262 Revere and the San Lotano Oval, but adds, “I smoke all of them.”

You can join the family at Brown and Sons Premium Cigars, 6502 Martin Way E
Olympia, WA 98516, 360-888-4603.

Swisher Debuts Premium Cigar Division

Swisher International is best known for Swisher Sweets, the small, flavored cigars popular with young smokers, but now the company is classing up its act by launching a new division devoted to creating a line of premium cigars.

Alex Goldman, formerly of House of Oxford/Mom’s Cigars. has been tapped to lead Swishers’s Royal Gold Cigars in developing lines that can compete with the current top brands in the premium cigar market.

“As a fourth-generation tobacconist, I have cemented relationships that will enable Royal Gold Cigars to develop, source and market an array of premium products that customers will enjoy at competitive price points," Goldman stated in a press release.

"Operating as a division of Swisher International gives Royal Gold Cigar the opportunity to tap into Swisher's leadership and leverage its resources, while maintaining an independent business model."

The new cigars will be test marketed in April and have a national launch at the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) Annual Convention & International Trade Show in Las Vegas this July.

Swisher, which is based in Jacksonville, FL, has been manufacturing tobacco products since 1861 and sells more than a billion cigars to over 60 countries each year.
