tobacco gift ideas
Here are some suggestions for some cigar gifts for you last miunte shoppers.

It's that time of year again, getting close to Christmas and you’re a little bit worried because you may have forgotten to get that gift for your favorite cigar smoker.   Will have no fear, Top25Cigar is here to point you in the direction of some nice, simple, and sure to be appreciated gifts for your favorite cigar smoker.

Now you may think that cigar smokers are hard to shop for, but we are here to tell you different.  There are literally hundreds of cigar related gifts, that are not only easy to purchase, but are guaranteed to be a hit as well.

Since we’re getting close to Christmas, your options are getting smaller.  You can likely still order from an online retailer, but make sure you don't forget your local tobacconists.  Your local tobacconists has served you well all year, and can provide you with those last-minute gifts that all of us procrastinators need to find.

The most obvious option, and the one that could have the biggest impact, is the ever present cigar sampler.  You'll find most of the major manufacturers have a sampler of some sort, usually a mix of some of there top-selling brands.  Cigar samplers are nice because it gives the smoker a chance to experience a variety of cigars that they may not normally smoke.  Some of the best samplers come from companies like CAO, which includes a DVD called “Seed to Soul”.  Retailing at $60, but often found much cheaper, this is a great seven cigar sampler that can also entertain with the included DVD.

If the person you're gifting is on the funkier side, you may want to look at the “Acid by Drew Estate Collection Tin”.  This tin includes 14 Acid cigars in a unique collector tin.  Be aware that Acid cigars, while trendy, use a secret infusion process that gives the cigars a unique aroma.  This gift is a little more risky, but also can reap giant rewards.

If you have sick money, look no further than Arturo Fuente.  Fuente has samplers featuring their renown OpusX and Don Carlos cigars.  The Don Carlos Edicion de Anniversario sampler features nine Don Carlos edition anniversary cigars packaged in an elegant box. At just under $300 you're sure to be a hit, and also a little shorter in the checkbook.  The Opus X line has a few different samplers, including ForbiddenX and Opus X aged selections.  These will only set you back about $150, but will give your cigar smoking friend the opportunity to try some fantastic cigars.

From the fine folks at General Cigar comes the Partagas Decadas Sampler Tin.  This is a beautiful cigar rolled with a rare extra aged 10-year-old Central African Cameroon wrapper.  The sampler includes three cigars packaged in a classy pocket tin with a set of high-end matches. For only 50 bucks, these are not only great cigars, but a classy way to carry them around.

Another easy and quick gift category is cutters and lighters. Cigar cutters can run the gamut from inexpensive to time to take out a mortgage. A couple of the sure fire brands that will make any cigar smoker happy are Xikar and Palio.  The Xikar cutters come with finishes ranging from standard steel, Redwood, gunmetal, and high-tech rubber. No matter which one you choose they all caught like a scalpel, and will leave any cigar with a razor sharp cut.  The Xikar cutters range in price from $39-$79.

Palio cutters may not be as sexy, but have a larger cutting diameter, will last forever, and seem to literally get sharper as you use them.  It's impossible to go wrong with Palio, and they are highly recommended by the seasoned cigar smoker.

Some cigar smokers collect lighters like they collect cigars. Lighters are in other accessory that range in price from the inexpensive to the “you've got to be kidding me!”  A simple torch lighter is always appreciated, and if you stick with the more popular brands like Colibri, Prometheus and Xikar, you should do just fine.  Of course if you have enough money, a DuPont lighter, while not always as easy to use will make a splash of inordinate proportions.  Just be ready to write a check of inordinate proportions as well, as these puppies can run you upwards of $1000.

Lastly if you're really stumped, you can always fall back on the gift certificate. Almost all of the online retailers provide ways to get gift certificates, and most local tobacconists offer them as well. These are especially nice as we get closer to Christmas, as they can be delivered over the Internet and wrapped up the night before if needed.

This was a quick and simple guide hopefully you got some ideas from it.  For me I'm simply going to e-mail my wife the link to this article, and hope for the best.  Who loves you honey!  (-:

Many of the above suggestions can be found Cigar.com, and other online retailers. Also please don't forget to support your local tobacconists.
