Toraño Cigars celebrated the launch of two new products recently, both
of which mark a new direction for the fourth-generation tobacco family. In both
cases, the Toraños teamed with other notable companies in their fields, one
family-owned as well.
On Sunday, November 4th, the Toraños and the Wilson family, owners of
Wilson Creek Winery, hosted a party at the winery to introduce the new
Toraño Reserva Decadencia premium cigar (See
Toraño Cigars Teams With Wilson Creek Winery to Create Reserva Decadencia
Premium Cigars). The cigar is the culmination of two years of joint efforts
by the families. It is unique, in that it is enhanced (not flavored) with the
essence of Wilson Creek Winery's Decadencia Chocolate Port, a Zinfandel with the
hint of natural chocolate.
The launch party took place at the winery in Temecula, California, near San
Diego, and was attended by over a hundred Wilson Creek customers, the press, and
industry notables. Carlos Toraño, Sr., the local Toraño representative, and Bill
and Mick Wilson, president and sales director respectively, were on hand. To
emphasize the "launch" theme, a gaily colored hot-air balloon lifted skyward, to
the crowd's excitement. Each guest received a freshly-rolled, as well as the
choice of a Noventa or Casa Toraño cigar, and lastly, a Reserva Decadencia with
dessert.
The gala will be followed by parties on the East and West Coasts, to precede the
national introduction next February. Because of the close collaboration, the
Toraños have chosen Wilson Creek Winery as the flagship store for the cigar, and
it will be prominently displayed and sold there.
