Champearl, a fresh new Champagne, has now joined the Black Pearl Lifestyle
portfolio of connoisseur products. Black Pearl is a collection of award-winning
premium cigars, gourmet coffees, and wines, all produced exclusively by the
Burlwood Group.
Doug Wood, company founder and board chairman, says about his bold
diversification into new markets, “We carefully selected three categories of
complementary products, believing many lovers of the good life enjoy all three.”
Champearl is a 2001 harvest North Coast (California) Brut. The company’s Web
site describes it as a “golden , lean, and totally dry accompaniment to smoked
salmon, eggs Benedict, prosciutto, and more.” Wood’s Lower Lake, California,
vintner, has enjoyed a consistent award-winning record, spanning the past 20
years.
Champearl joins Black Pearl Rojo (Cabernet), Cobre (Chardonnay), and Morado,
(blended Cabernet and Merlot). Quoting Wood, “I looked for the best wine I could
find, and believe the winery created just that.”
Two elegant Black Pearl events have preceded the nationwide debut of Champearl
Champagne, with a third to come. The two previous galas featured gourmet food
and all-new Black Pearl wines, Gourmet Coffees, and cigars, with the new
top-rated Morado cigar being the centerpiece. February saw a party at Fumare
Cigar Lounge, in Los Gatos, California. Atlantic Cigar of Stroudsville,
Pennsylvania, then hosted a $150-a-person gourmet dining experience at
Manhattanville College, Purchase, New York, in its authentic 19th-Century
castle.
This April 21, Northern Quest Casino, Spokane, Washington, owned and operated by
the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, is hosting its first Mens’ Night since its 2001
opening. All the same Black Pearl gourmet delicacies will satiate the palates of
200 distinguished guests.
