VegaFina Seijas 2011
Here’s another new release from Altadis USA. It’s called the VegaFina Seijas 2011, and it was made to honor Jose Seijas, one of the industry’s most respected cigar makers. Described as rich, robust, and complex, the VegaFina Seijas 2011 is a premium cigar of which only 2,500 boxes will be made.
The Seijas 2011 consists of a filler and binder made up entirely of Dominican tobaccos and is highlighted by a rare San Andres Criollo wrapper. All of the tobaccos used in the cigar’s construction are aged. This is a full-bodied cigar developed with connoisseurs in mind, so beginners may want to keep that in mind.
La Palina Kill Bill

The newest edition from La Palina is dubbed the Kill Bill, but it has no real connection to the Quentin Tarantino film of the same moniker. Instead, Bill Paley, La Palina’s owner, decided on the name because, according to Cigar Aficionado, he could not finish smoking the first prototype due to its strength. Kill Bill seemed like an appropriate and catchy label, and the rest is history.
Measuring just 4 ½ x 40 in a Petit Corona format, the Kill Bill packs plenty of punch for its size. The team at La Palina didn’t necessarily do anything intentionally to come up with such a strong cigar, as it is being released as part of the El Diario line and contains the same components as its predecessors. Those components include a filler blend of Nicaraguan and Criollo tobaccos, a double binder of Honduran Criollo Seed tobacco, and a Honduran Corojo wrapper.
If you’ve purchased any La Palina cigars in the past, you know that they can come with hefty price tags. Luckily, the Kill Bill will supposedly sell for around $10 per single. Look for it in packs of four, although larger boxes may be sold in the future. So you don’t get confused, each pack will be labeled as La Palina KB on the exterior, while the full Kill Bill name will be stamped on the inside.
