It's been a while since we discussed new cigar releases, so we will take care of that today by going over four new cigars. Up next are previews of a cigar by Habanos made especially for women, a couple of fat cigars from the Garcia family, and the Marquis from La Aroma de Cuba.
Romeo y Julieta Julieta
When you imagine your typical cigar smoker, you probably envision a man. While the majority of cigar fans are undoubtedly men, that does not mean that female fans do not exist. In an attempt to appease existing female cigar fans and attract new ones to the hobby, Habanos S.A. has announced the Julieta from its Romeo y Julieta brand. The cigar's release is about a year in the making, as it was previewed during 2010's Habanos Festival.
While the Romeo Y Julieta brand is by no means new, the Julieta vitola is. It measures 4 ¾ x 33, offering women the chance to smoke a petite cigar that can be enjoyed in a moderate amount of time. The cigar's tobacco comes from the renowned Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba. As for its smoking characteristics, the Julieta is said to have an excellent aroma and a solid burn.

The Julieta comes in packaging that caters to women as well. While it still retains the brand's original colors, the Julieta's five-pack has rounded borders that not only give it some attractive flair, but also make it easy to carry. Each cigar is decorated by a special gold and red band that displays the Romeo Y Julieta name.
As mentioned, Habanos decided to create the Julieta to spark an interest among women to smoke its cigars. That's not the only reason the new vitola was created, however. It was also released as a tribute to the women in Cuba who take part in the production process of cigars. The name was chosen because it was seen as a perfect fit for a cigar made to honor the women of Habano. Although the cigar definitely seems like a clever marketing move by Habanos to round up some more loyal customers, its tribute aspect is also a nice touch.
Keep your eyes open for the five-packs of the Julieta. If you are a cigar fan looking to get that special someone involved in your hobby, this seems like a solid avenue to do so. The same obviously holds true for any female cigar lovers as well. As for the gentlemen that are curious about the Julieta, go ahead and try one for yourself. It should light up for you just like any other cigar, and there's no need to be embarrassed about it.
