Unless you’ve been around for many years and have immersed yourself deeply into the hobby of smoking, it is highly likely that you still have plenty of cigars on your “to do” list. Still, that does not mean that you cannot be aware of new creations from several brands that have hit the market recently. With that said, let’s get up to speed on some newly released cigars that have hit the shelves from around beginning of 2010 in part one of this two-part article.
Cuban Cohiba Mini Tins
If you are looking for something a little different than the average-sized stogie, you may want to give the Cuban Cohiba Mini a try. Previously offered in cartons of 20, these cigarillos are now being offered in tins of 50. The tins not only give the packaging of the Cohiba Mini a different look, but also offer a functional advantage as well, as they help preserve the cigarillos’ freshness for a longer time. That extra shelf-life is a definite plus considering it may take you a while to smoke all 50. The tin can also come in handy as a souvenir or if you want to store other cigarillos in it when you are finished.
The Cuban Cohiba Minis are made in Cuba by factory machines, rather than handmade. You can expect the same quality smoke provided by the standard Cohiba smokes, as the Minis are made with the same tobacco that is grown in the renowned Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba. Cuban Cohiba Minis measure 3.5x21, making them a perfect treat when you don’t have a lot of time on your hands but still want to savor the flavor of a Cohiba. Their filler is made of pure Cuban tobacco and they are considered to be medium to full-flavored. You can purchase these nifty tins of Cohiba Minis for around $60. Make sure to snag one up quickly, though, as they are being offered in limited quantities.
Declaration by Jameson Cigar Company
Jameson Cigar Company has declared that it has a new member to its smoking family with the release of the aptly-named Declaration line. The Declaration is a cigar that should appeal to fans of Dominican puros, as it is composed of a blend of Dominican tobaccos for its filler, a 1998 Dominican Criollo binder, and is finished off with a 1998 Dominican Habano wrapper. The Declaration is labeled as being medium to full-bodied and comes in a single size, the Iniquity, which measures 5.5x50. You can find this stick on Jameson’s website in packs of 5 or boxes of 21, and a single cigar averages out to around $6 each.
