Perdomo Exhibición

The 2011 IPCPR trade show is now in full swing in Las Vegas, and that means plenty of new releases for cigar fans. Perdomo is one brand that is particularly busy, as it’s set to reveal its new Exhibición line. The Exhibición comes in three editions with unique wrappers that should appeal to smokers of varying tastes in the form of the Connecticut, Sun Grown, and Maduro. Nick Perdomo, Jr. described the upcoming line in the official press release: “Perdomo Exhibición is the culmination of our factory’s hard work and dedication to quality and consistency. Our team continues to work in unison to provide new and exciting blends to a world audience.”

Each Exhibición features a filler blend of aged Nicaraguan Cuban Seed tobaccos, including four-year old Seco leaves from the Central American nation’s Condega region, five-year old Viso leaves from the Jalapa Valley, and six-year old Ligero leaves from the Esteli region. The aging process applied to the tobaccos is nothing new, as Perdomo sticks to its traditional methods that have been passed down through generations.

The Exhibición’s filler is not the only component that is aged. The hand-selected wrappers are aged for six years prior to being subjected to additional aging in bourbon barrels. Perdomo barrel ages its Connecticut wrappers for an extra six months. The Sun Grown and Maduro wrappers undergo more extensive barrel aging, at 10 and 14 months, respectively. As to what to expect from each blend, the Connecticut is mild to medium-bodied and described as being creamy and velvety. The Sun Grown kicks things up a notch with its medium to full-bodied profile that offers earth and spice. The strongest of the trio is the full-bodied Maduro, which offers notes of coffee and cocoa.

Packaged in boxes of 20, the Perdomo Exhibición is comes in four sizes, including the 5 x 54 Double Robusto, 6 x 54 Toro Grande, 7 x 54 Churchill, and 7 x 54 Torpedo. Each cigar has a suggested retail price of $6.50 to $8, depending on the size.

Exhibicion is a great cigar no matter what blend you choose, but the real gem that Perdomo is coming out with is a Petit Corona that is a stick of Dynamite. It is a limited Edition with a great price point. A 20-30 minute smoke that will blow you away. Look for this stick. I will post when they become available
