Studio Tobac to produce a new cigar for Padilla

Studio Tobac has just announced that they will be working on a new release for Padilla Cigars. The decision to produce the new cigar comes in response to a request from Ernesto Padilla. He expressed an admiration for Studio Tobac's work on previous releases such as the Nub, and came up with the idea for the two to collaborate on a new Nicaraguan Habano. Despite the studio's reluctance to enter joint ventures with others, they agreed to do so with Ernesto Padilla due to their longstanding friendship.
The upcoming cigar from Studio Tobac and Padilla should be released by August of this year. Various prototypes of the cigar will likely be tested by members of the Studio Tobac Executive Board next month, and they will have the final say as to which blend becomes official. While the exact composition of the cigar is obviously unknown at this point, there are some hints of what to expect. It will be a full-bodied Nicaraguan puro made from Habano Seed tobacco. The full-bodied distinction makes sense, as Padilla is known for making stronger cigars. Each cigar will be a Figurado and ship in boxes of ten. The cigar's production will be limited to just 1,000 boxes. The final result should be quite interesting, as most collaborative efforts are. Hopefully, its release will not come later than August.
Padilla La Terraza

Speaking of Padilla, the brand has a new line of its own that should be hitting the shelves soon. It's called La Terraza, and it's named after a bar and restaurant located in the famous fishing village of Cojimar, Cuba. Ernesto Padilla claims that Ernest Hemingway, a friend of his father's, used to keep his boat in Cojimar. La Terraza was a favorite place for the locals, Hemingway included, to enjoy liquor, cigars, and more.
As for the cigar itself, La Terraza is made Nicaraguan Cuban Seed tobaccos. The cigar will ship in boxes of 20 in your choice of either a Habano or Maduro wrapper. Five different sizes are offered: the 5 x 54 Robusto, 6 x 50 Toro Gordo, 6 x 52 Toro, 6 1/4 x 52 Torpedo, and 7 x 50 Churchill. Pricing is expected to be in the neighborhood of $5 each.
