Pedro Martin Gold, Ruby, and Corojo

pedromart

When legendary blender Pedro Martin passed away last year, it was a loss not only to his friends and family, but to the cigar industry as well. Pedro obviously passed much of his expertise down to his daughter, Maria Martin, as she has successfully created a new brand in her father's honor that goes by the fitting name of Martin Family of Cigars.

Maria left her post as the national sales manager for Camacho Cigars to concentrate on the newly formed family business. Kicking off the brand are three lines that should appeal to smokers of different levels: the Pedro Martin Gold, Ruby, and Corojo. Pedro Martin personally blended each of the lines before he passed, so you know they must have a special meaning to his family.

The Pedro Martin Gold is a medium-bodied smoke that is the smoothest of the trio. It has a Nicaraguan filler and binder that is sealed with a flavor-packed Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. The Ruby kicks things up a notch and was made to appeal to fans of medium to full-bodied cigars with spicy and flavorful undertones. The Ruby features a Nicaraguan filler and binder and an oily Corojo wrapper. Last, but not least is the Pedro Martin Corojo. This full-bodied stick packs a punch and offers plenty of flavor as well. Experienced smokers should enjoy the Corojo's composition which uses nothing but Corojo tobacco for its filler, binder, and wrapper.

The Pedro Martin Gold, Ruby, and Corojo all come packed in boxes of 20 and are offered in five sizes: Robusto, Toro, Torpedo, Churchill, and Six by Sixty. The new Pedro Martin cigars should be available this month, so keep an eye out for them. With such a variety, at least one of these smokes should fit your profile.

Tatuaje Fausto

tatfaust

Fans of Pete Johnson and his Tatuaje brand have a new line to look forward to around June. The Tatuaje Fausto is set for a 2011 release as a regular production cigar, and it will be based on the brand's well-received T110 line. Expect a composition that includes a filler and binder from Nicaragua plus an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper. The Fausto will reportedly ship in four different sizes: the 5 x 54 FT127, 5 1/2 x 52 FT140, 6 x 50 FT153, and 6 1/2 x 48 FT166.
