It is time once again for some details on new and upcoming cigar releases from around the industry. Today we will offer up specifics on the Toraño Master Maduro, La Sirena Merlion, and the Arturo Fuente Solaris.
Toraño Master Maduro

Toraño recently announced the release of its new Master Maduro selection. Originally introduced two years ago after the Toraño regained control of its distribution, the original Master was an instant hit. High ratings from Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Journal Magazine helped spread the word, causing demand for the Master to skyrocket. Next came the Master BFC 6 x 60, which helped bolster the line’s solid reputation even further. To keep this positive momentum rolling, the Master Maduro was developed, adding to Toraño’s already impressive lineup.
Toraño president Charlie Toraño and master roller Felipe Sosa are credited with the Master Maduro’s creation, and both were also responsible for the creation of the original Master. Sosa told Charlie that he wanted to blend a new Master offering, but this time with a Nicaraguan Habano Maduro wrapper. The two experimented with different tobaccos until they came up with the final blend that was worthy of being added to the Master line. As for what type of smoking experience the Master Maduro provides, Toraño describes it as being complex, flavorful, and medium-bodied in strength.
Charlie Toraño had this to say about the Master Maduro in the official press release: “The Master brand has been one of our most successful brand launches. The positive feedback, both in the U.S. and abroad, inspired us to expand the brand. The Master Maduro is that rare combination of just enough power with an abundance of rich flavor.”
The Toraño Master Maduro comes in three sizes: the 5 x 50 Robusto, 5 ½ x 54 Toro Gordo, and the 6 x 60 BFC. The Master Maduro carries a suggested retail price of $6 to $8 per single, depending on the size. As a tribute to one of the men who helped to make the Master Maduro a reality, each box carries the image of Felipe Sosa. Do not hesitate to run out and pick one of these up, as Toraño is known for putting out quality smokes.
