Tabacos de la Cordillera has added a new 5-Pack Sampler to its Cumbres de Puriscal line of 100% long filler handmade cigars, for the Toro shape.
Cumbres de Puriscal is the company’s flagship line, and is available in 3 different wrappers and blends ... Gold, Silver, and Green ... and the 6" x 50 Toro is one of 9 shapes in the brand. Although the Toro has been available in cedar boxes and bundles of 25, economical sample packages were not offered until now. “Smokers’ requests are the foundation of our new products and packaging,” reports company director John Vogel. “They have expressed a desire to try the Toro before buying boxes and bundles, which prompted the new Samplers in Gold, Silver and Green, individually cellophane wrapped. Now, smokers can obtain them direct from our sales site at www.tabacordillera.com for only $20.25, the same $4.75 unit price as in the bundles.”
The new-to-the-market Costa Rican cigar manufacturer startled the industry with its claim that, according to Vogel, “We use only tobacco grown naturally on our own farm, from 100% genetically pure pre-Embargo Cuban seeds. Our cigars turn the clock back 50 years, to when Cuban seeds and tobacco were at their pinnacle.” Vogel’s credentials and experience are unparalleled in the tobacco world. A graduate agronomist, his career as a geneticist in the tobacco industry spans 40-years. He followed his 20 years as an R & D project leader for the world’s largest cigar manufacturer with another 20 years as an industry consultant. His unique qualifications enable him to create new, proprietary tobacco strains at Tabacos de la Cordillera. He states, “No cigar producer worldwide ... including Castro ... is growing tobacco from ancestral seeds from Cuba’s Golden Age of cigars ... only Tabacos de la Cordillera.”
