“The Burner is an attention-getting conversation piece,” states Alan Rubin, founder and president of
Alec Bradley Cigar Company. “It’s the ideal toy for the cigar lover who has ... or wants ... everything”
Described as the
“ultimate table lighter,” The Burner by Alec Bradley Cigar Company is the latest in a line of elegant and functional cigar accessories for the cigar smoker. The company has introduced several models of artistic hand-crafted ceramic ashtrays, as well as four humidors, which combine traditionalism and advanced technology, to which The Burner is a logical addition.
Rubin explains The Burner offers unique benefits. First of all, lighting a cigar should be part of the fun! Using existing table lighters is slow and painstaking, because their small flame dances around in even a slight draft. The Burner’s large (1" diameter) mushroom head has 60 holes, much like a chemistry lab’s Bunsen burner. The 1" to 1-1/2" high, 2,450F flame lights the cigar almost instantaneously, without the need to rotate the cigar. The cigar lights cleanly, without suffering a charred, sooty-tasting foot.
“This avoids two problems. Smokers become impatient with the slow ignition of a regular flame, and often don’t light the entire foot. The uneven burn deprives the smoker of the flavor of the entire blend, due to the unburned tobacco at the foot. Microtorches, with their pin-point flame, usually char the foot, because of the time it takes to light the entire foot. The Burner’s quick light of the entire foot prevents this charring.”
The Burner also doesn’t require the costly premium butane, as do micro torches. Its refillable 1.4 fluid ounce canister holds enough butane for 2 hours of continuous operation ... about 1,000 cigars worth.
The lighter measures 3-1/4" high, 5" wide, and 3" deep. The chromed canister and burner head are complemented by the black/gray ignition switch and gas valve assembly atop the gas canister. To operate, simply open the valve and click the switch, then close the valve to extinguish the flame.
The Burner comes individually boxed, at a suggested retail price of $49.99. It is currently available at cigar retailers nationwide.
