2. Padron 1964 Anniversary Maduro Imperial

padron1964

Coming in at number two on our list of the most popular cigars reviewed by Puff.com members is the Padron 1964 Anniversary Maduro Imperial.  Almost 62 percent of voters liked this solid cigar from the respected Padron brand.  Like the Oliva Serie V Special V Figurado, this is also a Nicaraguan puro.  All of the Nicaraguan tobacco used to make the cigar is aged four years, and it also sports a nice box-pressed Toro shape that measures 6 x 54.  The cigar was released in 1994 to commemorate Padron’s thirtieth anniversary.  Beyond its Maduro version, the 1964 Anniversary also comes in a Sun Grown wrapper.

How did some members describe this stick overall?  Superb, close to perfect, one of a kind, amazing, and favorite were some of the most favorable descriptions of the 1964 Anniversary Maduro Imperial.  It’s said to have an even burn, good draw, and solid ash.  Many called it full-bodied, yet smooth.  In terms of flavor, earth, leather, spice, nuts, cocoa, sweetness, and cinnamon were listed as parts of the experience.  The cigar’s price was noted as being up there, but well worth it for the quality you get in return.

3. Trinidad (Cuba) Robusto Extra

Cuba is known all around the world for its wonderful cigars, so it should come as no surprise that the Cuban Trinidad Robusto Extra makes this list.  Approximately 64 percent of voters liked the Trinidad Robusto Extra, which measures 6 1/8 x 50.  Getting your hands on a Cuban cigar isn’t all that easy, and most of these cigars bring higher price tags with them.  That apparently was not enough to dissuade many of our members from giving the Robusto Extra a shot.

Some commended the Trinidad Robusto Extra for a perfect draw and burn, while others said the experience seemed to fluctuate.  Smooth is one term that seemed to appear in many reviews, but the Robusto Extra was also said to offer some strength without being overpowering.  Coffee, nuts, butter, and toast are some of the flavors experienced by members while smoking the Robusto Extra.  Due to the cigar’s price, many recommend saving it for special occasions.
