Advantages provided by online cigar shops

Perhaps the biggest advantage online cigar shops have over B&Ms is convenience.  You can shop for cigars from the comfort of your own home without having to get in your car to make the trip.  This is a big plus for those who live in remote areas or who don’t have many B&M options in the vicinity.  You can also search for specific brands, sort according to price, see what’s on sale, and read reviews from other smokers all within seconds.

Due to the aforementioned lower overhead that’s typical to internet retailers, you can often find better deals on cigars online.  Selection is often greater too, since online stores aren’t as limited when it comes to storing inventory within the confines of a retail store.

The Wrap-Up:  Which is better for you?

In the end, you are the one who must decide how to handle your cigar shopping.  As you can see, each party has its own advantages.  A beginner would be better off visiting a local B&M simply for the personal advice they can receive.  If you are a sociable person looking to get some weekly interaction with others who love the hobby of smoking, then a trip to your B&M is your best bet too.

If you don’t really care about socializing with others, know exactly what you want, and seek convenience, the online is the way to go.  Why limit yourself to either, however?  You can mix it up to get the best of both worlds.

How do you prefer to shop for cigars?  Do you like the personalized attention you receive from your B&M?  Do you also like supporting local businesses, which pushes you to take the B&M route?

You can discuss your preferences by heading over to the General Cigar Discussion or the Members and Places to Smoke by Area boards that are part of Puff.com’s extensive collection of forums.  Feel free to share your favorite places to shop, whether locally or online so that other members can benefit from your knowledge.  That's all for now, but keep coming back for more cigar news, reviews, and more right here on Puff.com.
