Ok let's be brutally honest here and admit that cigar smokers are not the most sociably acceptable people in various parts of the world. At the same time we're not social outcasts either but there is a surprising bond that seems to exist amongst cigar smokers throughout the world that draws us together wherever we are.

Personally I probably wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself but now I know that it is genuine. Perhaps it does have something to do with the way others view us, perhaps it's just a natural friendliness that manifests itself more openly amongst cigar smokers, but whatever it is, it's enjoyable and the bond certainly does bring us closer together than almost any other diverse group that I have ever seen.

There are so many things that go into the experience of enjoying a fine cigar that it is almost impossible to not share this pleasant happening. It's a fun little event to go into your local "B&M" (brick and mortar tobacconist) to choose a stick. You get to talk about what is new with the staff and exchange taste experiences with other patrons. There are some great conversations to be had.

If the B&M has a smoking lounge, and you decide to stay for a smoke, you'll notice how quickly and easily conversations are struck with people you have never met before. The cigars get us talking, but the topics often diverge into just about every facet of life from sports, to politics and back to cigars again. (I like to talk about hot chicks, but that is another subject.)
