Plastic Bags
While owning your very own humidor can be something of a status symbol ... or even a badge of office ... for cigar smokers it really isn't necessary to own one for there are several other ways of safely storing your cigars and perhaps the cheapest of all is the zip-seal plastic bag.
Yes, they're not very attractive and people aren't going to gasp at your opulence when you flash a zip-seal plastic bag full of the best Havanas but if function is more important than form for you then those plastic bags with the little zip-locks on the top are definitely going to work for you.
Experts suggest that the freezer bag grade ones that are made out of slightly thicker plastic are the best to use but even those aren't going to break the bank. Just be sure that the bags you've bought really are airtight because sometimes the quality control in their manufacture can be a bit off and the seal isn't as airtight as you might think.
You should keep some type of humidification device in the plastic bag. Here is a shot of a plastic bag with a Humi-Care "water pillow" keeping the cigars fresh.

Some shops also sell the Humi Pouch.
