It’s definitely a different way of marking a special occasion and if you’re going to the expense of hiring a cigar roller then you may as well go all the way and hire some cigar servers as well. Look for the best and you will get cigar servers who are skilled in preparing and lighting cigars for your guests.

Of course adding that special something - such as a cigar roller and cigar servers - does require some coordination and there are cigar makers who offer not only the rollers and servers but the coordination as well so look for them and let them handle the details.

Something Else to Think About

For must of us who might be thinking about cigars to mark some special occasion it’s almost certain that our first thoughts are going to involve Torpedoes or maybe even Churchills or Presidentes because you naturally think that size is important and that’s fine … if there is going to be sufficient time to smoke a large cigar like that.

Remember, each one of those cigars is going to take at least an hour to smoke and the very last thing you would want to do is to force your friends to rush the smoking of their cigars or maybe even have to take a half-smoked cigar away from the event. So, when you’re thinking about cigars, also think about the amount of time that will be available for your guests to smoke them.

If time is going to be limited then perhaps it might be wise to move away from thoughts of those bigger cigars and start considering something smaller such as a Corona or a Robusto in a brand like Cusano for something a little different.

For Those Other Special Occasions

For those other special occasions when you really have nothing that others would consider worth celebrating - those times when you’ve achieved a personal goal that you don’t want to share with others - there’s always your favorite cigar combined with a port or a brandy and some time for reflection and contentment.

Perhaps those occasions are the most special of all.

Thanks romburgundy. I'm glad you enjoyed the article. I certainly enjoy having a cigar by myself when it's real quiet and I am reading a book.
