A sky-scraping, luxury hotel in Panama is due to open its grandiose doors for the very first time this July. The sail-shaped hotel is the latest luxury venture by business tycoon Sir Donald Trump, and has smashed current records to become both the tallest and largest building in Latin America.
Latin America’s largest building is a seventy story, luxury hotel towering over Panama’s pristine coastline. Shaped like the sail of a yacht, the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel and Tower is as over-indulgent as its lengthy title. Conceived by business tycoon Donald Trump and his three children, Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric, the hotel is designed to “reflect the modern day sensibilities of next-generation luxury travel.” And those sensibilities have been reflected in an opulent, sea-view skyscraper with a Spa the size of an international football pitch. The hotel is due to open its doors for the very first time on the 6th July when guests will be invited to enjoy a game of 18-hole golf, throw caution to the wind in the casino and relax at the private members’ beach. A luxurious base from which to explore Panama’s Punta Peninsular, it’s sure to pull in rich, glamorous customers from across the continent.
Golf, Gambling and Sky-High Swimming
Designed by Columbian architects Arias Serna Saravia, the hotel is a fresh, bright, cosmopolitan hide-out packed with gourmet restaurants and super-indulgent activities. With one floor dedicated to elite boutiques and shops, it doesn’t shy away from consumerism much either. Among the hotel’s list of impressive features is a pool deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean, a private member’s beach club which is only accessible by catamaran, and a luxury 18-hole golf course. There’s also a three-story high cocktail bar, an international calibre-casino and an exclusive hotel yacht club.

Luxury service is at the heart of the Trump Ocean Club Panama. The hotel group’s signature Trump Attachés are always available to cater for their guests every need, from stocking the mini bar with your favourite wine to providing you with personalised business cards and stationary. And if you plan on visiting frequently, there’s also luxury wardrobe storage so you can keep your favourite suit in Panama ready for your next trip.
Gourmet cuisine is another of the hotel’s major selling points. Spanish chef Daniel Bausá Peris oversees the hotel’s five restaurants, which include a seafood restaurant, tapas bar, pool-side grill and wine bar with gourmet nibbles.
