If you’re thinking about going camping and want to enjoy your cigars to the max on your trip, here are some tips to keep in mind so that everything runs smoothly.

The great outdoors and smoking cigars - does life get any better than that?  Probably not.  Camping offers a perfect opportunity to light up your favorite cigars.  There are some things you should consider, however, before you pack up and leave.  Things such as lighting, storage, and more.  So, to ensure that you don’t forget any of the essentials, check out these following tips that will maximize your cigar smoking experience while you become one with nature.

Mix it up

As they say, variety is the spice of life.  Keeping that in mind, avoid bringing cigars on your trip that are all the same.  Mix it up a bit.  Not only with the cigar line itself, but with the format as well.  Short cigars are good to have for a quick smoke, while you might want to have longer ones around for when it gets dark and it’s time to relax.  A good way to ensure this variety is to just buy a sampler pack from your local B&M or an online retailer.  There are several packs out there that will give you complete variety when it comes to brand and format.  A sampler of 10 would be great for a multiple day excursion, but if you think you're only going to be camping for a day and a half or so, a sampler of five should be just fine.

Protect your cigars from the elements

Florida is a great state for camping, but its temperatures can get brutally hot.  That’s also true for many locations during certain times of the year.  Regardless of where you live, you want to keep your cigars protected from the outdoor elements.  Whether it’s the heat, cold, humidity, rain, you name it.  The way to do that is with proper storage.

If you want to go the cheaper homemade route, you can use a simple Ziploc bag stuffed with a humidification pillow, beads, humid packets, or any other small humidification accessory.  If you prefer to splurge a bit, you can invest in a travel humidor that’s designed for camping trips and the like.  You should take this route if you’re an avid camper that takes more than the occasional trip.
