Tatuaje The Face

A tradition of Halloween cigars named after famous horror characters just wouldn’t be complete without Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and that’s exactly what The Face is.  Released in 2010, The Face measured 6 3/8 x 56 and was highlighted by a Mexican wrapper of the Seco variety that gave the cigar a lighter color.  The Face’s Dress Box showcased the moniker in a scratched-in font, as if somebody put it there by using a knife to carve in the letters.  Splatters of blood also graced the front, as well as some gnarly-looking scratches.  Production of The Face was limited to 666 boxes of 13 and 1,300 boxes of 10.

Tatuaje The Drac

Named after everybody’s favorite, Dracula, The Drac hit the scene in 2009.  It measured 6 3/8 x 52.  The cigar’s filler and binder were both made of Nicaraguan tobaccos, while its wrapper was of the Ecuadorian Habano Maduro variety.  1,300 Dress Boxes of 13 were produced.

Tatuaje The Frank

And now for the cigar that started the whole tradition of Halloween releases from Tatuaje: The Frank.  Obviously named after Frankenstein, The Frank kicked things off for the Monster Series in 2008.  Not surprisingly, this was a huge cigar, measuring in at 7 5/8 x 49.  Its composition featured a filler and binder of Nicaraguan tobaccos and a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.  666 Dress Boxes of 13 were released at a suggested retail price of $13 per single, but you can bet that the hype behind The Frank led to some much higher prices among aficionados.  Like the others that came after it in the Monster Series, The Frank’s Dress Box had a ghoulish feel to it thanks to its coffin shape and a healthy dose of blood splatters.

These are just some examples of Halloween-themed cigars, but there are certainly others to be enjoyed too.  Have you tried any on this list?  If so, don’t be shy and share your thoughts on them by heading over to Puff.com’s General Cigar Discussion board.

Happy Halloween!
