Halloween is right around the corner, and if you are like many people, you might have no clue as to what costume to wear. Keep reading to find out some tips on creating the right Halloween get-up, as well as some drink recipes with a ghoulish theme that you can make for your guests to enjoy.
What to wear
It seems as if Halloween was much simpler when we were younger. Many could not wait for October 31st to roll around so we could put on costumes of our favorite characters as we headed out to trick or treat. As adulthood hits, however, dressing up for Halloween can seem like a chore.
Halloween parties are usually some of the best of the year and a great way to let loose, but the responsibility of showing up in a themed costume is almost reason enough to skip out on the festivities and stay home. You could always avoid dressing up and be “that guy” who shows up dressed as himself. That's no fun, though, and you may get banned from even entering the party. If you are lucky enough to get in, others might see your choice to go in plain clothes as a lack of personality.
Dressing up for Halloween can force you to think creatively, but it does not have to be that hard. Here are some general rules and tips to help you brainstorm a bit, as well as some actual costume ideas to use and others to avoid.
Don't try to be overly clever
Being original is great, but if your costume is harder to decipher than the human genome, you might become frustrated. Why? Well, would you rather have fun and party, or do you want to explain to each and every person that asks what exactly it is you are dressed as? Halloween costumes are a great icebreaker, but don't wear one if you think its meaning or appearance will be too vague for others to catch on.
