terminus1Dynamic, fast and surprisingly sleek, there’s an extraordinary new development glittering on the e-bike horizon. Luxury bike manufacturer M55 is blazing a trail within the young but rapidly expanding e-bike industry, breaking new ground on the front-line of innovation and design.

Speed, style and cutting-edge technology have been combined to create the company’s latest generation of motor-powered bikes. Drawing a line under what they call an era of prototyping, M55’s first creation, the Beast, has undergone a period of transformation. The company is now launching the newest version of their elite e-bikes, and it’s clear the Beast has evolved. It’s time to welcome... the Terminus.

The Hybrid Bike

The M55 Terminus was unveiled at this year’s Top Marques luxury fair in Monaco, where it was a favourite among some of the world’s most devoted luxury car lovers. An avant-garde creation dreamed up by an inspirational group of designers and engineers, the bike brings the technology of the silver screen to life. Combining the science of Formula 1 with space-age design, it’s a unique concept that’s already capturing imaginations across the world, and is fast becoming a highly desirable piece of kit.

The Concept

While the company wanted a bike that would look like a Transformer, they wanted technology that would perform like a Batmobile. The motor-powered machine, which was tried and tested on the famous Monaco GP track, is a well-equipped off-road bike with a thoroughly-tested collection of high-tech materials. Created for cross-country biking, it’s fitted with Fox suspension and infamous Brembo breaks, which until now have only been used for Formula 1 racing cars. Rather than using electricity to substitute human power, the bike’s sensor-controlled motor kicks in whenever you need an extra boost, and with 540 revs-per-minute that boost can take you up to 67 kilometres per hour. But for the speed and power it’s packing, the Terminus is surprisingly streamlined and stylish. Its aluminium frame and futuristic appearance were designed with Optimus Prime in mind, and will definitely attract a few longing gazes.

The Features

Labour and love have gone into creating, testing and improving each of the custom-made features which make this e-bike a luxury buy. Its electric circuits are designed by technicians using patented technology and can be fully re-charged in just over 15 minutes. The bike has a system which lets you cruise along on Eco mode or whack it up to Turbo for a wilder ride. Meanwhile, the motor has been crafted for the highest possible performance from a light-weight pack. Tucked away in a slimline case, it’s been precisely positioned at a low centre of gravity so you hardly notice it’s there at all. Plus, it doesn’t control the pedals, so it’s not just an enjoyable ride, but also a safe one.

With a never-ending light supply, a water-resistant control panel and the most powerful battery cells on any e-bike (cells which are also used in some of the world’s fastest electric sports cars) this bike really is breaking new ground in the industry. But forget the technical talk, what it’s really getting noticed for is the experience: its unbelievable speed, its smooth ride, and that indescribable feeling you get when you try out the Terminus. The bike has been designed so that the rider becomes part of the machine once in the cockpit, making for an unforgettable and unique experience.
