cusanopic1We have not profiled a cigar company over the last few weeks, so let's get back into the habit today by discussing Cusano Cigars. While the company has experienced its shakeups in leadership as of late, it still has plenty of great cigars that are ready to be enjoyed. This profile will discuss the various lines that Cusano has to offer.

Cigar Lines

18 Double Connecticut

cusano18conn

The 18 Double Connecticut is just one of three lines from Cusano that employs a double binder setup. Such a setup is said to offer even more flavor than usual, and the complexity offered by the 18 Double Connecticut has earned the cigar some high ratings.

The 18 Double Connecticut's moniker is not only obtained by its used of a double binder, but also by its use of a Dominican Oro filler tobacco that has been aged for 18 years. In addition to the aged Dominican Oro tobacco, the cigar also has San Vicente Olor and Cuban Piloto tobaccos added to its filler mix. A Connecticut Shade leaf binds the filler, and it is topped by a Connecticut Shade wrapper. When smoking the 18 Double Connecticut, you can look forward to experiencing a creamy, medium-bodied smoke. The cigar ships as a 5 x 50 Robusto, 6 1/2 x 46 Toro, 6 1/4 x 54 Gordo, and 7 1/4 x 50 Churchill.

18 Paired Maduro

Cusano's 18 Paired Maduro is a spinoff from the original 18 Double Connecticut. This line received plenty of popularity from its initial high ratings and its affordable price. Listed as medium-bodied in strength, the 18 Paired Maduro is described as being both silky and rich.

The cigar features a filler blend of Brazilian Mata Fina, Dominican Piloto Cubano, and Dominican Olor tobacco that has been aged for 18 years. A Dominican San Vicente Olor leaf serves as the binder, while a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper completes the composition. The inclusion of the Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper leaf in the filler gives this cigar the double binder distinction. Look for the Cusano 18 Paired Maduro in one of the following sizes: 5 x 50 Robusto, 6 1/2 x 46 Toro, 6 1/4 x 54 Gordo, and 7 1/4 x 50 Churchill.
