Padron 1926 Serie

You could call the 1926 Serie a birthday cigar. That's not because you smoke it on your birthday, although you could, but it was released in 2002 to celebrate the 75th birthday of Jose O. Padron. The 1926 Serie, like others from Padron, is renowned for quality and has garnered plenty of praise within the industry. Production is very limited, as only 100,000 1926 Serie cigars are produced on an annual basis. To ensure that you know you have an original in your hands, each cigar has a double band stamped with a production number for authenticity.
The 1926 Serie is a full-bodied cigar with an interior made up of Nicaraguan Ligero tobaccos. The tobaccos used to make the cigar are all aged for five years. Each comes box-pressed and in your choice of either a Natural Sun Grown or a Maduro wrapper. The 1926 Serie is said to not only offer some boldness, but plenty of complexity as well. It's full-bodied nature makes it a solid choice for experience smokers, and may be too overwhelming for beginners. Seven sizes make up the 1926 Serie's lineup: the 4 x 48 No. 35, the 4 ¾ x 50 No. 6, the 5 ½ x 52 No. 2, the 5 ¼ x 56 no. 9, the 6 ¾ x 54 No. 1, the 6 ½ x 54 40 Anniversary, and the 6 ¾ x 54 80 Years.
Millennium
The Millennium falls into Padron's special release category. The cigar was released in 2002 to help celebrate Jose O. Padron's 75th birthday, just like the 1926 Serie. The difference with the Millennium is that its release was extremely limited. Only 1,000 cases of 100 individually numbered cigars were released, making their purchase an very difficult task. According to the brand's website, the only cases of Millennium cigars that still remain are a part of the Padron family's personal collection.
That completes this profile on Padron Cigars. As you can see, the brand has quite an impressive history in terms of high ratings. It also offers plenty of variety, with several vitolas available in each line. Pick some up and see for yourself if the hype they have received is warranted.
