Diamond Crown Maduro

More handsome in my opinion than its brother, the Maduro version of the Diamond Crown is propped up by a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that lends a beautiful dark coat to this smoke.

As far as taste goes, this, for me, was similar to the non Maduro version, with that same cocoa and almond taste, and Fuente spice. However, there was also a nice under current of fruit, perhaps a cherry flavor, that worked well in the mix.

Of the two, the Maduro was probably my favorite, in large part because of its look.

The Diamond Crown Maximus

Wanting to out-do the Diamond Crown Series, Stanford Newman contacted the Fuente family on the company’s 110th anniversary, asking for their assistance in creating yet another premium cigar. In addition, the Oliva Family was brought on board, specifically for their dark El Bajo Ecuadorian Wrapper.

The Diamond Crown Maximus comes in five different sizes, ranging from the Robusto #5 5 x 50 to the Double Corona #1, which weighs in at an impressive 8 x 50. The binder and filler are both made from the Fuente family’s Dominican Republic, adding their trademark spiciness to the mix.

This cigar is very flavorful, and its wrapper is a real beauty. The Bajo Sungrown wrapper is dark and majestic, oily and veiny, and a real treat for the eyes. Alongside the spicy pepper taste, expect to find a nice nutty flavoring, with a hint of cocoa and maybe coffee,

Conclusion

That wraps up this look at the J.C. Newman Cigar Company and their Diamond Crown and Diamond Crown Maximus lines. I hope you found this article informative. And as always, if you have tried these cigars and would like to add your own opinion, or have some anecdotal tales about the company, drop us a line. We love to hear from.

And as usual, thanks for reading. See you soon!
