Ashton ESG Series
The Estate Sun Grown series is the result of a team effort by Carlos Fuente Jr. and Robert Levin. The cigar was made to commemorate 20 years of success for the Ashton brand. The ESG is a limited quantity cigar of which one new size was released per year as a celebration. The cigar uses a rare Dominican wrapper that is grown at the Chateau de la Fuente farm. In fact, the special wrapper had not been used for other previous Ashton releases. As of now there are four sizes available, with more to come.
Aged Maduro Series

The first thing that comes to mind about Ashton's Aged Maduro line: this is one dark cigar! The Aged Maduro garners its name from its special Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro Wrapper. Only the select leaves from the harvest are used for the wrapper, and it is then aged slowly to give it a sweet flavor. The binder and filler are both Dominican. The Aged Maduro line became popular once it was released to the public, and was a bit of a hard find for many. It's a medium-bodied stick that has notes of earth and nuts, among others. Maduro lovers should definitely give this line a try. It comes in different sizes.
Small Cigar Series
The Small Cigars series from Ashton was made for those occasions when you don't have a lot of time to enjoy a tasty cigar. The small stature of this line, however, eliminates that problem, giving you a quick and flavorful stick to enjoy on the run. The Small Cigar series is actually produced in Europe, and it features a wrapper and binder from Central Africa. The leaves used for the Small Cigar series are too brittle to work well in larger cigars, but they suit these smaller sticks just fine. There are four sizes to choose from, and you can purchase the cigars in bulk of up to 100 per brick, which is essentially ten boxes of ten cigars grouped together. It was smart of Ashton to produce mini cigars such as these, as lovers of the brand can pick from a variety of different sizes that stray a bit from the ordinary.
That concludes this Puff Profile on Ashton Cigars. If you have never had an Ashton, make sure to treat yourself to one. The brand has a solid reputation when it comes to producing quality sticks, and the likelihood of you being disappointed in your purchase is pretty low. At least give one of the Small Cigar offerings a shot, as they are great for a quickie every now and then.
See you next time...
