Today on Puff.com we have another profile to offer. Today's company of choice is Camacho Cigars. We will learn a little about how the company was started and where it is today, as well as what they have to offer in terms of smoking.
The Company
Camacho Cigars was founded in 1961 in Miami by Simon Camacho. He began producing cigars in Miami after being exiled from Cuba. Despite his hardship of being thrust into a new land, Camacho succeeded in creating a name for himself with his cigars. Even legendary cigar aficionado Winston Churchill was a client. Ownership of the company changed hands in 1995 after Simon Camacho passed. The Eiroa family acquired it under their company, Caribe Imported Cigars. As of now, Camacho is part of the much larger Oettinger Davidoff Group.
The Eiroa family's history in the cigar business goes back to the early 1900's in Cuba, where they grew tobacco. The family tradition continued to build in both Central America and the United States over time. Now, Christian Eiroa, part of the younger generation of the family and heir to the company, resides as the president of Camacho Cigars after years of training and being educated in the business by his father, Julio, among others.
Camacho is still going strong today after nearly 50 years and transitions in ownership. The company has several cigar lines on the market, and now we will take a look at some of them.
Cigar Lines
Before we list some off the company's offerings, it should be noted that Camacho divides their cigars into different categories. The Ultra Premium category contains cigars that are what one would consider to be limited editions. The Premium category consists of the company's main cigars that are produced in larger quantities. Finally, the Core Brands category is made up of cigars that do not carry the Camacho name in their titles, but are produced by the manufacturer.
