giftThe winter months may have brought us long, dark nights and chilly weather, but they’ve also brought us loads of shiny new gadgets to brighten up those dull December days. From bright red speakers to golden iPhones, rosewood guitars to hanging fireplaces, there are plenty of reasons to cosy up and embrace the indoors this winter. Helping spread some seasonal cheer, the team here at Puff Lifestyle have been rummaging through the piles of festive offerings to find the best new launches in the technology world, and we’ve put together a selection of the season’s hottest gadgets which are sure will help distract you from the winter gloom...

Parrot Zikmu Speakers

These pillar-box red towers are the latest creation by renowned designer and architect Phillipe Starck. Designed for use with the iPhone as well as the latest generation of iPod and iPod Touch, the bright red speakers have been equipped with an in-built docking system which allows you to listen to your favourite music while recharging the device. Remote control technology also means you can change tracks from the comfort of your sofa – which is perfect for keeping your spot on the couch warm this winter. If you want to add a really festive feel to your home, you can now also get hold of the speakers in a limited edition antique gold finish - a glittering centrepiece for all those fabulous Christmas parties.

Cocoon Aeris Hanging Fireplace

The hottest way to heat your home this Winter, these hanging fireplaces not only look amazing, but are also guarantee to keep your pad nice-and-toasty all season long. With a multi-positional hanger it’s easy to find the perfect spot for the fireplace, and a breeze to adjust the height to suit your home. Sparing a thought for the environment, the designers of the Cocoon Aeris have used alcohol to fuel the fire, so while it’s keeping you warm it’s also helping keep your carbon footprint low. Burning for a maximum of six hours on one measure of bio-fuel, it’s a great way to banish those winter chills, and in summer you can fill it with ice and use it as a champagne bucket for year-round decadence!

Montegrappa and Stallone’s Chaos Pen

The perfect excuse to stay in and write a few Christmas cards this winter, the Sylvester Stallone-designed pen makes us want to ditch our laptops and tablets forever. Putting the thrill back into writing, the director has teamed up with Italy’s most revered pen manufacturer Montegrappa to create a distinctive pen inspired by his box office smash, The Expendables.  Drawing on the works of 16th century artists, including Battista Franco, Albrecht Durer, Hans Sebald Beham and Antonio Pollaiolo, the ‘Chaos’ pen is adorned with skulls and finished with a suave, sword-shaped clip. The most macho bit of writing kit we’ve seen for a long time, it’s sure to get snapped up quickly, with only 1200 pens up for grabs. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on the Chaos, you might as well go the whole hog - Christmas pun intended - and pick up the specially designed Chaos inkwell as well. Beautiful in black rock crystal and solid gold, the whole set makes for a great festive present - or maybe just a pre-Christmas treat? Well those cards won’t write themselves you know....
