Well, this has just been one exciting week for my pipe hobby. To start things off, I came home from work a couple of days ago and found a beautiful wooden Oliva cigar box sitting on the counter. I opened up the mystery box hoping to pull out a stogie, but there was something even better inside, a pipe starter kit! It came with 5 Altadis aromatics, a cheap briar, a pipe lighter, and other accessories. Then my dad came downstairs and told me it's his! I've always wanted to smoke a pipe/cigar with my father but ever since he quit cigarettes I've never brought the subject up. He spontaneously decided to try smoking a pipe after seeing a clay churchwarden of mine come in the mail. He's in Baltimore on business this week, but I can't wait to smoke with the old man gets when he gets back
On top of that, the Peterson pipe and tobacco tins I ordered came in today. I've never seen a Peterson in person so when I opened the box it came in I was up for a big surprise. What a beaut! It feels perfect in the hands and the P-lip seems like it will be very enjoyable. Along with the pipe I picked up a tin of G.L. Pease Barbary Coast and Mac Baren Honey & Chocolate. These are the first tins I've ever bought, and opening them was a big surprise as well. Both smelled just delectable as soon as I pulled the tops off. Barbary Coast has a generous brandy scent, and the Mac Baren tin smells like the sweetest chocolate in the world.
Now the only question is deciding what I'll dedicate the Peterson too. Already have an English blend pipe, so I'm thinking straight Virginians for this one...
