Hi all.

Just registered here a few days ago after learning about the site from a thread on a custom knife collecting website where I've been a moderator for several years.

I'm a mid-50's retired federal law enforcement officer living in the mountains of western NC with my wife and 4 year old Weimaraner.

I'm an amateur when it comes to cigars though I had the good fortune to have been exposed to some good ones during my many years in South FL before relocating up here.

Oftentimes I'd go on Friday afternoons with some of the local detectives I was working with to the La Gloria Cubana factory on 8th St. in Miami and pick up something special to relax with. Other times we'd stop in any one of several cigar shops and pick up a Fuente (8-5-8 or other fine smoke) to kick back with.

I've only recently begun to renew an interest in cigars so I've been ordering some premium sampler deals online to get a feel for what most agrees with my taste. Thus far I've been enjoying a variety of cigars from such lines as Montecristo, Partagas, La Gloria Cubana, Cohiba, H. Upmann, Ramon Allones, Macanudo, Onyx and JR Ultimate. I have several others (Romeo y Julieta, CAO, TTT etc) sitting in my desktop and small Pelican Case humidors awating their turn to burn.

I have a nice large porch and rear deck where I can enjoy my cigar surrounded by woods and woodland inhabitants and a wife who is very supportive of my newly rekindled vice, I mean hobby.

Nice to make your acquaintance. I've learned quite a bit in the past few days just by reading some of the current and older threads. I hope someday to be able to contribute something of use to others here.
