No different than any other personal item claimed lost for a covered peril.
You supply receipts, photos, video, manuals, anything that can show you in fact owned it.
As a good idea, I recommend everyone photo and video everthing in your home of value and update it regularly. Best if you can store it in a safe or in a safety deposit box in the bank (the latter is what I do).
We understand many do not keep receipts so where we cannot get them, we ask for this type of photo proof. Large items from major stores? No getting out of that one as we know most stores are now computerized and will have a copy available for you.
