It's a good idea to take the caps off of the tube before placing them in the humidor. I personally couldn't get by without tubes.

I don't own a car, I take a motorcycle everywhere I go. When going to a friend's house, I usually pop a cigar into a tube and either put it in my pocket or under the rear seat so it doesn't get crused. Same thing goes for trips to the B&M if I'm bringing someone a smoke, or myself something to smoke.
