If have ever tasted an old tubo compared to an old cigar from a dress box or cab, then you would notice a difference I think. Short term, I think it's just an aesthetics thing. Then again, I don't have that much experience with that statement so take it for what it's worth. I think sealed tubos allow for slower and more graceful aging with the restricted airflow. Tubos seem to blossom an amazing degree of flavor and depth, provided that the cigar is good to begin with, and you have a couple decades to spare with them.
