After making my own pipe, and some of the discussion that ensued, I have found myself wondering if anybody would be interested in a pipe making kit pass (I am thinking something along the lines of the Moka pot pass in the coffee forums).
I have an extra rotary tool that I would be willing to base a tool kit around (I think, I have to make certain this afternoon
), and I would include the accesories and sand paper needed to make your own pipe (based on using a prebored briar kit like the ones from Pimo). The idea would be that you would order such a kit in advance, and would have 2 weeks with the tool kit. You replace the expendables that you use, then pass it on to the next person. I imagine that the cost of shipping the tool kit around will be less than having to buy all the tools yourself (and you will not be stuck with a bunch of tools if you do not want to do another).
If anyone is interested, just chime in and we can see where this goes.
