Just got back from a week long trip to Florida with the family. I didn't bring along any pipes as I usually don't smoke when rushed and harried as I always am on a family vacation. What's odd is how many pipe smokers I came across as I never see any back home. The real shocker was at Universal Studios which still has smoking areas and *gasp* alcohol readily available (take that Disney). There were quite a few folks enjoying their pipes (mostly cobs) while sipping drinks and watching the kids run amok. Back at the hotel there was one fellow smoking a bowl of Prince Albert (I had to ask) out by the pool which forced my wife to grudgingly admit that she likes the smell of pipe tobacco. I did sneak off to a few cigar bars which was so nice coming from draconian Washington State. It was a great trip and if I had known how congenial the area was to us pipers I would have made it a point to at least bring along a few packed cobs. Live and learn.
