God of Fire Carlito 2005 Review

I was gifted 2 wonderful sticks 2 weeks ago under the guise that I needed to post a review of each..the Boli Gold Medal (already done) and the GoF Carlito.

Mark (Conch Republican) had an interesting time biding on a box of GoF on the devil site and I won't allow him to live it down so he decided to share his good fortune!!

I also got to share this smoke with another good friend via a cyberherf with Savvy as he had a GoF to celebrate his entrance into the Air Force.

On to the Cigar..

Beauty of a cigar!!! it was dark but not quite a Maduro dark and the wrapper was smooth. The 2 bands set it off perfectly. I punched it and toasted it and right off the bat there was spice that reminded me of why I love the Pepin cigars and an undertone that neither Jordan nor I could place for a while, it was a very woodsy flavor with a hint of sweetness not a campfire or bbq flavor more of a wood burning stove flavor. The Spice died down and the Woodsy flavor mingled with a light chocolate/sweet undertone for most of the cigar. Burned really well compared to the conditions as I had the ceiling fan goins and all the windows open to get all the smoke out of the living room before my wife got home from the concert...not that I can't smoke in the house I just didn't want lingering smoke in here. At the 1st band it pulled a lil bit of the wrapper with the removal and it started to unwrap at that point.....but the burn continued to try real hard to burn straight even with the wrapper coming undone.

The spice came back with the last 3rd and continued till the end!

Was a good cigar and I am with alot of the other reviews that for the price its a lil overpriced!! I will rank it better than the BGM I smoked but as I said in the BGM review I am just not af an of the cuban flavor profiles.

These are not available as far as I know here in Wichita and before I spend $20+for a cigar I either better have a better job or be single...LOL

Thank you Mark for a wonderful gift and I enjoyed every bit of it!!!

Construction--9
Aroma--9
Flavor--9
Overall-8.5 (the band pulling a bit of the wrapper made the burn a lil hard to control)

Great cigar even if a lil overpriced!!!
