My first OpusX Review

Had a Belicoso XXX gifted recently for my birthday, from my friend Lee. He had one hiding in his humidor that he didn't even know about. When I told him it was a highly rated stogie, he found one online for me for my bday. So this weekend, we camped in the garage to stay out of the rain and broke 'em out. First off, this is one attractive cigar:

Pretty much perfectly rolled, and (to use my father-in-law's phrase) "harder than a wedding pr*ck".
I undressed it immediately, as I was sure I'd be nubbing this guy:

What a solid stick. I thought this might be a tough draw, but boy was I mistaken. Prelight was very easy, and already a bit of spice on the tongue.

Fired it up and it started really nice. Big hit of spice immediately, then calmed down a notch. Had to touch up the light a couple of times in the first 1/2 inch. After that, the burn was perfect. I think it was just needed a longer rest in the humi than the one week I gave it. Lee's had no problem at all, but his was probably a year older and very well rested.

Good flavor throughout, with lots of spiciness and complexity. I pretty much nubbed it without ashing it even once. I even whacked it with the camera strap about halfway through, and the ash stayed on. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words:

Finished it off just about the time I finished my half of the wine bottle.

Maybe the best cigar of the year for me so far (well, maybe). I know these babies aren't cheap, and some consider them overrated, but I really enjoyed this. Definitely a 9+ out of 10 for me.
