I'm really looking forward to this year's
Giro. It is my favorite grand tour and is usually less predictable than the Tour de France.
The last minute inclusion of Astana (Contador, Leipheimer and Klöden) should serve to make things even more interesting than the race otherwise would have been.
Instead of an opening prologue the first day of racing will be a Team Time Trial, always beautiful to watch.
The most serious mountain stages will be in the final week of racing.
The race will conclude with a fourth time trial rather than the more traditional parade/sprinter's stage in Milan.
TV coverage in the US will again suck with Versus broadcasting only Sunday recap shows. For US residents there is live streaming coverage available
here (every day except Sundays) for $29.99.
