Ashton VSG Socerer Review
LAST EDITED ON Mar-12-01 AT 11:30 PM (CST)[p]I got this cigar in my Box pass from BJ i believe and smoked it today while watching some TV with friends.
Appearence and Construction: A beautiful cigar. The wrapper was dark as night with a nice sheen of oil all over it. The wrapper was very smooth with only small veins on it. The construction of the cigar was superb with the cigar having a almost spoungy feel to it. (in cA's interview with Castro he described this as a desirable trait) 8.5
Aroma, Flavor, and Aftertaste: The prelight aroma was delicious and only got better after I lit it. The flavor started off kind of mild to medium with cedar/woody notes and a slightly sweet flavor. The farther I smoked into the cigar the stronger or more full bodied it became. By the halfway point it was a full bodied spicey dream. 9
Burn and Ash: A perfect even burn with a medium gray ash that was fairly firm. 8
Overal Experience: What a great cigar. I wouldn't mind buying a box of these some day. For a full bodied smoke, you can always rely on a VSG.
Overall score: a solid 9
